City of Portland Rental Criteria: Landlord's Evaluation Process
Upon receipt of your application, Landlord will compare the contents to the outlined criteria (see navigation bar and select the tab titled "Screening Criteria" to view requirements). Written supplemental evidence is welcome in order to mitigate unfavorable results. Within 30 days of a denial, applicants can appeal the decision but must update conditions or certify that they remain materially unchanged. Negative changes can be used as the basis for a denial.
Occupancy for the house is based upon a standard of "2+1". Two persons per bedroom, plus one additional person within the general house.
Any applicant currently using illegal drugs will be denied. If approved for tenancy and later illegal drug use is confirmed, termination shall result. This does not include medical marijuana use.
Any individual whose tenancy may constitute a direct threat to the health and safety of any individual, the premises, or the property of others, will be denied tenancy.
